Level 3 Communications Names Mogens C. Bay to Board of Directors
BROOMFIELD, Colo., December 21, 2000 – Level 3 Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:LVLT) today announced that Mogens C. Bay has been named to the company's Board of Directors. Mr. Bay brings the number of directors to 11. Mr. Bay is chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Valmont Industries, Inc., Omaha, Nebraska. Valmont is a global leader in designing and manufacturing structures for the communication, lighting and utility markets, and providing protective coating services for infrastructure. Valmont also leads the world in mechanized irrigation and water management equipment for agriculture, enhancing food production while conserving and protecting natural water resources. In addition, Valmont produces a wide variety of fabricated products for commercial and industrial applications.
