Transatlantic Capacity

Transatlantic Capacity

Level 3 has 720 Gbps of network capacity on four redundant, high-speed submarine cables connecting Europe to North America across the Atlantic Ocean. Capacity includes the unique routing of Apollo South, which provides direct connectivity from North America to France.

Yellow, a Level 3-built transatlantic cable activated in November 2000, spans almost 4,000 miles and connects the Cornish town of Bude in the United Kingdom to Long Island, New York. The cable’s capacity is currently 320 Gbps but is upgradeable to 640 Gbps. Level 3 also has capacity on AC-1, the Apollo North and the Apollo South cables.
